Question: Transmission problem???

My 91 toyota camry transmission quit working at a stop sign. The engin would rev but the car wouldn't move. I turned off the engine. after setting about 20 minutes I turned on the engine, pressed the accelerator and the transmission engaged and the car moved. Now I'm afraid to drive it. Have you heard of this problem before?

I haven't heard but only thing you can do by yourself is to check transmission fluid level.
There should be two marks on the checking stick: one for hot state of transmission and other for cold transmission. If you can drive for several miles you are able to check level durihg hot state, otherwise use "cold" mark.
